The Al Siraat Cricket Academy (ASCA) participated in an intra-academy game with modified rules to end semester 1. During the term the Year 8’s & 9’s participated in net sessions while the Year 7 students participated in individual skill development in preparation for the game.
Two teams and captains were selected. Team Yahya Ahmed versus Team Ammar Ulhaq. Players bowled and batted in pairs against another pair from the other team in four over sections.
The leading wicket takers for the game were Umar Faroqui and Mahir Sidiqi with two wickets each. The leading run scorer was Huzaifah Khalil with 17 swashbuckling runs.
Areas of improvement for all players in their fielding and catching. The Year 7 boys need to work on the ability to hit the ball through the field. This shall be the focus for Term 2 & 3 along with strength and conditioning training in the schools elite Fitness Centre.
It was a close game with Team Yahya Ahmed finishing victors 124 runs to 117 runs.
