Foundation Excursion to Bundoora Farm

1 December 2015

Our wonderful Foundation students had an exciting day at the local Bundoora farm. The staff greeted us with big smiley faces and spent the day showing us around.

Foundation Excursion to Bundoora Farm

We enjoyed a ride into the bush and laughed as the hungry emus chased us for food. We spotted many sleepy kangaroos resting in the shade and kept our eyes open for joeys. We searched the veggie patch for hidden treasure and talked about the different things plants need to grow.

Making scones was a real highlight for everyone, even if we did have to wait till the end of the day to eat them. Feeding chickens and goats, holding a guinea pig and a milking a goat were memories we will all have forever. It was really wonderful to see smiles on everyone’s face, even though it was hot. We hope the children had many stories to tell their parents when they got home.

A big thank you to the wonderful parent helpers who joined us: Without you, the day would not have flowed so smoothly.

My name is Ms Cheryl and I have been teaching at º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ since 2011. I am pleased to announce that I have accepted the position of Team Leader for Year 4 and HifzA. As Team Leader, my responsibilities include looking after the pastoral care of all Year 4 students and ensuring that everyone behaves in a dignified and positive way.

I graduated with a Diploma of Teaching in 1986 and a Bachelor of Education in 1991. I started my teaching career at the Australian International Academy (AIA) in 1988. During my 12 years at the Academy, I taught all Primary levels and held a wide variety of positions of responsibility. After leaving AIA, I taught at a State school in the Inner Melbourne suburbs, I ceased work for a short while to raise a family.

I believe that I bring a variety of skills and many years of experience and knowledge to the classroom and enjoy playing an important role in guiding students towards being life – long learners. I look forward to working with you and the Year 4 and HifzA teachers to ensure that 2021 is a rewarding year for us all.
