The Hon. Lily D'Ambrosio MP, Minister for Energy, Environment, Climate Change and Solar Homes organised and hosted a Youth Forum at Mill Park Library in the evening of Wednesday, 7 September 2022.
Seven of our Senior SRCs participated in the youth consultation, presenting current issues that matters to young people in our community about recycling waste, recycling, protecting the environment and road safety. Our students talked about these issues and shared solutions with the group.
The following ASC student leaders attended the Youth Forum:

- Osama Akkad – Year 11, Senior SRC

The Youth Forum provided an opportunity to hear from different diverse groups on topics ranging from employment, improving mental health for younger people and providing safe social spaces. Students had interactive discussion with other organisations like City of Whittlesea, Baseline for Young People and Whittlesea Community Connections.
We would like to share the good news that one of the agenda raised by the student group was actioned quickly by MP Lily D ‘Ambrosio. The group raised concerning points about road safety around the College zone: Early work on the Epping Road upgrade have started, connecting to Harvest Home Road. Safe walking and cycling paths are to be created to allow better connections to º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ and other nearby schools, shopping centres and other services.
We would like to thank the Hon. Lily D‘Ambrosio MP for giving us the opportunity to be part of the Whittlesea Youth Forum.
